New York City Wedding Photographer: Stephen Gosling Photography
At the end of April I took my blueberry (my Toyota Yaris) up to New York City to shoot an engagement session for Vicky & Shyan. I have the pleasure of shooting their wedding later this year in Springfield, VA but they really wanted their engagement session up in New York where they met. It had been a couple of years since I’d been back to the city so I was well up for the trip!
We started our shoot at the Bethesda Fountain and Arcade in Central Park which is truly beautiful (and if you’re every there at 8am on a Saturday morning (as we were) you’ll see that it is just over run with dogs!).
We had a little friend come and join us for a couple of shots as we took some shots on the steps by the arcade. I love how most people; when they see a photographer or a shoot happening, they try to give you some space and walk to the side so as not to interrupt your picture. With their help we were able to get plenty of shots where it seems as if Vicky and Shyan are the only people in the city!
The next couple of shots are taken with one of my favourite lenses! My 50mm f/1.2. I love how the trees in the background are blurred into a silky smoothness that just looks awesome.
Our shoot was the day after the Royal Wedding so Vicky and Shyan decided to practice their royal waves from the epically intricate balcony.
I can not wait for their wedding in October! Its going to be a blast!
