Arlington VA Engagement Portraits: Stephen Gosling Photography
What do you get if you mix a Marine Pilot with an Army Soldier? An incredibly cute couple!
Allie and Russ are getting married here in DC next year and before Allie has to travel down to North Carolina for assignment they wanted to get some engagement portraits at the monuments that mean the most to them.
We stared our sunrise session (I love the light that you get at sunrise; the gold is incredible!) at the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington, VA before heading into Washington, DC for some shots at the World War 2 Memorial and the Washington Monument. Allie clued me into the fact that the stars at the World War 2 Memorial are all unique; all individually made so that there are small differences to signify the differences in each of the personnel that lost their lives. I love learning new things about the place I’ve lived for 4 years now, especially from couples that I’m shooting!
I wish you guys all the best for the future (and especially for your wedding in July of 2012!).

Abby Grace - Lovely colors! I like how bright the images are. Also, my first thought when I saw the wide angle shot of the Washington Monument was “holy cow, where is there a pyramid in DC, and how have I not heard about it before now?” Did you use a fish-eye? Cool shot!
Stephen Gosling Photography - –>Abby,
Thanks so much! Not a fish eye, 16-35mm probably at or around 16. So pretty wide indeed! Not a big fan of fish-eyes if I’m honest.
